The Energy and Infrastructure Training Market Development Fund is a Department of State Growth program to support Tasmania to build a skilled workforce equipped with the expertise needed for major energy, infrastructure and related initiatives.

The Fund provides grants to support the capacity building of training providers (including trainer recruitment, upskilling trainers and supporting trainers to relocate) as well as developing courses and delivery methods that meet the needs of industry.

The current round of the program will close at 2pm on Friday 5 February 2021. $850 000 has been allocated to this round of the TMD Fund, with grants available for eligible businesses of up to $150 000.

The Program Guide lists the qualifications that have been identified to be considered in the recruitment and upskilling of trainers and the development of courses and delivery methods. Applications for funding for priority qualifications that relate directly to Energising Tasmania major projects will be rated more highly.

Applications for the Energising Tasmania Training Fund, which provides Endorsed RTOs fully subsidised training places to deliver nationally-recognised qualifications to workers in areas of priority skills needed to support the Battery of the Nation initiative and more broadly energy, infrastructure and related sectors in Tasmania, is now extended until 2:00pm on Wednesday 30 June 2021.
