Position Overview

The Visitor Services Coordinator will develop and coordinate a range of high-quality tourism services, ensuring a seamless visitor experience while increasing the economic impact of tourism in the region. This position requires flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends and occasional tourism events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of visitor information services, including staff training, cash handling, and merchandise management.
  • Work closely with the Circular Head Tourism Association and key tourism bodies to enhance regional tourism.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to promote the region and its offerings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive public image of the Council.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tourism and marketing, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement.

  • Current driver’s license and relevant qualifications in Tourism and Marketing.
  • Proven experience in developing tourism initiatives and managing retail operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing environments.
  • Additionally, knowledge of local government operations and strong research and report-writing skills are preferred.
