Willows are choking our local waterways, increasing erosion, and pushing out native habitats. As part of the Weeds Action Fund initiative, a practical willow field and education workshop will be delivered by Russell Horton – Wilmot Willow Busters and Petra Wilden – Regional Weeds Coordinator Cradle Coast NRM.

We warmly invite the community and members of local Land and Wildcare groups to attend and participate in this important hands-on working bee to cut and treat invasive willow infestations and talk about habitat protection and native revegetation to stabilise the riverbanks.

🛠️ What We Will Be Doing

  • A working bee to help tackle priority willow infestations using proven treatment methods

🥾 What to Bring & Wear

  • Sturdy, closed-toe footwear or rubber boots
  • Long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sun protection (hat/sunscreen)
  • Thick gardening or work gloves
  • A refillable water bottle

Note: All chemical treatment equipment, safety gear, and instructional guidance will be provided by experienced coordinators. No prior experience is necessary!

Let’s work together to protect our beautiful North-West Tasmanian landscapes from invasive species! 🌳

The Cradle Coast Regional Priority Weeds Project is supported by the Tasmanian Government.
