New CCA Chief Representative appointed by member councils

Media release – New Cradle Coast Authority (CCA) Chief Representative appointed by member councils

At the December 10, 2024, meeting of the Cradle Coast Authority (CCA) Representatives, Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Mary Duniam was appointed Chief Representative and Devonport City Mayor Alison Jarman as Deputy Chief Representative. Mayor Duniam has served as Deputy Chief for several years and has replaced the outgoing Chief Representative, Mayor Peter Freshney.

Incoming Chief Representative Mayor Duniam expressed she is “looking forward to encouraging greater collaboration between all Cradle Coast Councils to build the strengths of our region that are future-focused, strategic, and inclusive.”

Deputy Chief Representative Mayor Jarman said she is “looking forward to working with the representatives and board and our wonderful new Chief Rep, Mayor Mary Duniam.”

The CCA Representatives consist of two representatives from each member council, who represent and vote on behalf of their council. Typically, these representatives are the Mayor and the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of each member council; however, if one of them is appointed to the Board, the Deputy Mayor will take their place as a Representative.

Sheree Vertigan, CCA CEO, extends congratulations to Mayor Duniam and Mayor Jarman on their new appointments and thanks to Mayor Freshney for the invaluable contributions he made during his tenure as Chief Representative.
